About the project

PARTIR was born as a radio podcast project with the aim of giving a voice to one of the first generations of Spanish women who emigrated to Belgium.

In this audio journey we discovered how they lived in a country that was not their own, what processes they experienced, what they did in their daily lives and what was it like to raise their sons and daughters far from home and their families. 

​

​

Through the testimonies of 24 women, we have been weaving this exhibition made up of their objects, photos and documents to complement these stories of emigration and pay tribute to this generation.
